Every knight or fairy princess from time to time needs a new helmet. I offer you a magic power to create it in a few time. I've made this helmet for 4-years-old child. Her head circumference is 50 cm. My pattern fits for head up to 54 cm circumference. If you need more - add width to each pattern part equally. Let's begin! There are the patterns . Each sheet is A4, just print it at 100% scale. You will need: 1. A felt sheet or another stiff fabric, approximately 50x50 cm. 2. Thick thread and needle. 3. Two big buttons. Massaie Salentine

I've found these incredible Signoras during the journey in Puglia, Italy. "Massaie" means "housewifes". And now two of them live in my home, but I wish have all of them. Although Massaie are looking like very authentic, folk objects, they were born only 27 years ago in the workshop of Salentinian artist Maria Gabriella Epifani . They became an impersonation of the simple, peasant woman who works on the field, cares about the household and family and always is open for new information :) Look, Massaia's face has always a surprised expression. Alena Kish's secret garden.

Hi everybody! Today I would like to tell you about my secret passion in the belarusian folk art - Belarussian decorated carpets. On the picture above is my recent masterpiece :) - wooden painted tray. It's subject based on the famous chef-d'oevres of Alena Kish - a self-taught artist who worked at the fist half of XX century. Unfortunately, the most of her works are lost. Today some of them are exhibited (not permanent yet) in The History And Culture Museum-Reserve "ZASLAŬJE" not far from Minsk. Belarussian decorated carpets are, in fact, big, strongly decorative paintings, that were painted on the primed and painted black canvas background without any subframe or frame. I am Mamushka!

Recently I made this fabric doll for my daughter, who, of course, has plastic Barbie with all sorts of stuff. But she asked me do this one for her. As all folk ancient things, this doll is not just a toy. It has several layers - magical, practical and pedagogical. This kind of dolls with babies in their hands called Mamushka and they are not only toys, but a powerful amulet to protect the owner. To make Mamushka you only need some linen, cotton or wool rags, treads and hands. Of course, there are strict magic rules for making Mamushka (use only old fabric, which was a part of your clothes; use only red cotton or linen string to tie her body by magic cross way; do not draw the face (or spirits will settle down inside, booo!). You can believe or not - your doll will be perfect whatever. :) I would like let you look closer at coziness, rusticity and warmness of these dolls.

Countries, they are like people. There are influential celebrities (Russia, France, USA, Germany, Great Britain...), everybody knows them, everybody has a stereotype concerning people who live there: - Italians? - Loud, merry brunettes. - Americans? - Fat and calm or fit and active. - Japonese? - Extremely reserved and polite, short stature. Sometimes these stereotypes are true, often reality is quite different from your thoughts. But there are so many countries, which are like "common people" not so famous. Only neighbours, relatives, colleagues know about their existance. What do you know about Myanmar, Sierra-Leone, Tajikistan or Moldova, for example? My country - Belarus - is one of such "invisible men". Belarus is quite small post-Soviet republic, situated between flamboyant Russia and vibrant Ukraine. We have no sea, not many sunshine and unique nature treasures. WWI and WWII and all pan-european clashes centures before ruined our historical heritage....

DIY Evergreen Romantic "Zinnia" Wreath

Hi! Spring is coming and it's time to remove christmas wreathes and to take off last needles from the inside of your slippers. And then to bring some romantic atmosphere of spring time and love and sun and flowers... that you can make out of old christmas decoration partly. So, what do we need? Thick cardboard or polystyrene (1-2 cm) for the basement. And knife to cut it. Size of the wreath is up for you and depends of quantity and size of cones and place where the wreath will be placed. Pine cones. Cones should be with bottom flat enought to be resemble flowers. Better if you find cones with rounded flakes (look at the picture). And try to select cones of different sizes to make wreath nuttier. Elder catkins - if you have no alders outside your window, you can replace it with some beads or berries (natural or not). Glue - glue gun is perfect, but you can use any viscous glue. Twigs - of birch or willow or any other flexible branches. IMHO, birch ...

The sweetest coffee table ever!

Hi everybody! Finally I've finfshed my project - coffee table in folk style. As my living room is of green, white and ivory colors, I needed something popping and waving in the middle of serenity. That's it! The sweetest coffee table ever! I've made it of old pine furniture panel and even more old table legs from my attic. The shape of the table is determined by the free space between the chairs.

Hello everybody! I extremely love boho chic and all that things about hippie, gipsy art and vintage. So I could not resist and I've made a collection of wooden bracelets in boho style. New bangles in ethnic style.

I've made two sets of bangles. Inspired by folk art, especially scandinavian folk art. Wooden base decorated in decoupage technic, then a little bit painting over it and varnish. I've tried to save rough texture of chalk paint, which was used as a primer. I've added some scratches and scuffs to make them more authentic looking.
